Wateera — Support

Wateera is a daily-routine app whose timeline is the six prayer windows rather than the 24-hour clock. You schedule "read 20 minutes after Fajr", not "read at five", and the app keeps that right in June, in December and through Ramadan.
Common questions
Do I need an account?
No — there isn't one. Wateera has no sign-in, no server and no sync. Everything lives on your iPhone, which is why the app works with the network switched off entirely.
Why does Wateera ask for my location?
Prayer times depend on where you are on the Earth, so the app needs one coordinate to calculate them. It reads that coordinate once, at roughly kilometre accuracy, and uses it on the phone. It is never uploaded.
You can say no. Settings → Place → Choose a city gives the app the same coordinate by hand, and everything works identically. Nothing is withheld from someone who declines.
My times are a minute or two off my masjid. Is the app wrong?
Probably not — the two are answering slightly different questions. Wateera calculates the times from the sun's position for your coordinate; a masjid follows a published timetable or a local convention, which can differ by a minute or two for perfectly good reasons.
Three settings close the gap, all in Settings → Prayer:
- Method — Umm al-Qura (the Kingdom's published method, and the default), Muslim World League, Egyptian General Authority, or Karachi.
- Asr — the shadow length Asr is taken at. Shafi'i, Maliki and Hanbali take one; Hanafi takes two.
- Corrections — minutes added to or taken off each of the six times individually. Everything in the app follows them, including your reminders. Set Maghrib to +2 once and your masjid and your app agree from then on.
Every screen that shows a time says Calculated and names the method, because the app should never let you mistake its arithmetic for a ruling.
Does Wateera track whether I prayed?
No, and it never will. Wateera does not log, count, score or remind you about prayers being performed. The prayer windows are the app's clock — the frame your own habits hang on — and never a scoreboard. That is a permanent product boundary, not a feature waiting to ship.
What happens in Ramadan?
The Umm al-Qura method moves Isha to 120 minutes after Maghrib through Ramadan, and Wateera follows that automatically. It determines the month from the tabular Hijri calendar, which can begin a day before or after the sighting in your country. On that one night, use Settings → Prayer → Corrections for Isha, or the Hijri correction in Settings → Calendar to shift the displayed date.
Can I see the Hijri date?
Yes. Settings → Calendar → Today reads: Gregorian, Hijri, or both. There is also a Hijri correction of ±1 or ±2 days for countries whose sighting differs from the tabular calendar.
I travelled. Do my old days change?
No. A day you logged in Riyadh stays the day you logged in Riyadh. Change your place in Settings → Place and today's windows recompute from the new coordinate and time zone; your history is not rewritten behind you.
My reminders aren't arriving.
Check, in order:
- iOS Settings → Notifications → Wateera → Allow Notifications is on.
- Focus or Do Not Disturb is not filtering them.
- You have chosen a place (Settings → Place). Without a coordinate there are no prayer windows and therefore nothing to place a reminder against.
- The habit itself has a reminder switched on.
Reminders are scheduled by iOS on your phone, so they arrive in Airplane mode too. Wateera never counts what you missed and never puts a number on the icon.
How do I get my data out?
Settings → Export. One lossless JSON document plus a CSV per table — habits, routines, entries, routine runs, freezes and settings — and a manifest naming your home time zone and prayer settings, so "20 minutes after Maghrib" is still reproducible outside the app. It is free, complete, and always will be.
What is free, and what does Wateera Plus cost me?
Free forever: unlimited habits, all six prayer windows, prayer anchoring, your whole history with no cutoff, the year grid, streaks, reminders, the full export, and both Arabic and English.
Wateera Plus is the parts around the log: more than one routine, the deeper statistics, and custom symbols. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.
How do I cancel?
iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Wateera → Cancel Subscription. There is a Manage subscription link on Wateera's own purchase screen that takes you straight there.
Cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date. Cancelling stops future charges; it does not refund the current period.
Can I get a refund?
Purchases go through Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple, not by us: https://support.apple.com/billing. We genuinely cannot issue them.
How do I delete everything?
Settings → Your data → Erase everything. It removes every habit, every logged day and every setting from the phone, permanently, and offers you an export first.
Or just delete the app — there is no account to close and no copy of your data anywhere else.
Which languages does Wateera speak?
Arabic and English, both written rather than translated, and both first-class. Settings → Language switches the whole app immediately, whatever the phone is set to, and Settings → Numerals chooses Latin or Arabic-Indic digits independently.
Which devices does it run on?
iPhone, on iOS 18 or later. There is no iPad or Apple Watch version yet.
