Wateera — Terms of Use

These terms are a contract between you and Wateera. By using the app you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.

1. Prayer times in Wateera are calculated, and Wateera is not a religious authority

Read this part properly. It matters more than the rest.

Wateera schedules your day against the six prayer windows. To do that it calculates the times of Fajr, sunrise, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib and Isha from the sun's position for your coordinate and date, using the calculation method you select — Umm al-Qura, Muslim World League, Egyptian General Authority or University of Islamic Sciences, Karachi — and the madhhab you select for Asr. Every screen that shows a time labels it as calculated and names the method.

A calculated time is an approximation, not a ruling. Mosques, national authorities and published calendars differ from one another and from any calculation, by minutes, for reasons that are legitimate: a different convention for twilight, a local adjustment, an observed rather than computed horizon. Wateera's engine has been checked against published Umm al-Qura tables for every day of a full year in Riyadh and Jeddah and agrees to within about a minute and a half — which is a statement about arithmetic, not about religious obligation.

For religious obligation, follow your mosque, your local authority or the calendar you trust. Do not treat this app as a substitute for any of them. Use it to organise your day around the windows; do not use it to decide whether a prayer is due.

Wateera is not a prayer tracker. It does not log, count, score, grade or remind you about prayers being performed. Prayer is the clock in this app, never the scoreboard, and that is a deliberate and permanent boundary rather than a feature that has not shipped yet.

Wateera is also not a medical, psychological or professional-advice product. It is a place to write down what you intend to do and to see whether you did it.

2. There is no account

Wateera has no user accounts and no sign-in. Your log lives on your iPhone. There is nothing to register, nothing to secure, and no credentials of yours for anyone to lose. How the app handles data is set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms — its short version is that nothing is collected.

Because there is no account, there is also nothing for us to suspend or close. Your relationship with the app ends the moment you delete it.

You must be at least 13, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live.

3. What is free, and what a subscription buys

The log is free and is meant to stay free. Unlimited habits, all six prayer windows, prayer anchoring, your complete history with no cutoff, the year grid, streaks and the core statistics, reminders, full export of everything, and both Arabic and English are free — permanently, not as a trial.

Wateera Plus is an optional auto-renewing subscription covering the parts around the log: more than one routine, the deeper statistics, and custom symbols for your habits. The complete and current list of what a subscription unlocks is shown on the purchase screen inside the app before you buy, together with the price and the term. That screen, not this page, is the authoritative description of what you are paying for.

Wateera 1.0 has no accounts and no cross-device sync, and nothing in the app is sold on the promise of either.

4. Subscriptions and billing

Purchases made in the app are processed by Apple, under your Apple Account.

Managing and cancelling. Manage or cancel in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions, or from inside the app: Settings → Wateera Plus → Manage subscription opens the same page. Cancel at least 24 hours before renewal to avoid the next charge. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not refund the current period.

Refunds for purchases made through Apple are handled by Apple, not by us: https://support.apple.com/billing — we cannot issue them.

Price changes. If we change the price of an existing subscription, Apple will notify you and ask for your consent before it takes effect.

5. What you may and may not do

Wateera is licensed to you, not sold. You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use it on devices you control, under the terms of Apple's standard EULA as supplemented here.

You may not: copy, modify, reverse-engineer or decompile the app; resell or sublicense it; use it unlawfully; or interfere with other people's use of it.

6. Your data is yours

We do not claim ownership of anything you enter, and we could not use it if we wanted to: it never reaches us. You can export all of it at any time, on the free plan, from Settings → Export.

7. Availability

Wateera is designed to work with no server, which is deliberate. Your log, your prayer windows, your reminders and your history do not depend on us being online, or on us existing at all. An app that has already been installed keeps working offline, indefinitely.

We may change or discontinue features in future versions. We do not promise that any particular feature will exist forever, except the ones named as free in section 3.

8. Warranties and liability

Wateera is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent the law allows. In particular, and without limiting section 1, we do not warrant that a calculated prayer time will match any particular mosque, authority or calendar.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 50.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you, and you may have statutory rights these terms cannot remove.

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Wateera afterwards means you accept them.

11. Termination

You may stop using Wateera at any time by deleting it. Sections 1, 6, 8, 9 and 12 survive.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the courts of Riyadh have jurisdiction — except where the mandatory consumer-protection law of your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings locally, which these terms do not remove.
